I am wondering if Ram Trucks is keeping their GVW low for a reason? Especially since there is a lot of wiggle room with the GAWRs. Same truck, with the VM Diesel bumps the truck up 150lbs of GVW. I highly doubt the Diesel has anything more than heavier front springs (besides the diesel stuff) to compensate for the 100lbs over the Hemi. Is there something about going over 7000lb GVW in some states that make things different? Something with the EPA? Or NTSB crash ratings? I know the Ram is still a possibility for me if the Nissan will be out of the question, but if I do get the Ram, I am going into it knowing that I will be towing over GVW by a little bit, but not over GAWRs (Waiting for the scolding from the weight police). And, that is towing a Hybrid, because that is what I feel is right for this truck.
