- ib516Explorer IIWe haven't had this, or any transmission issue with our cherokee trailhawk.
We have had a coolant leak, that part (a hose) is on national backorder, so seems to be a common issue. I have read many complaints about trans issues, so they are out there for sure.
The one comment on the linked story seems to tell more of the story:
"Yea, when I saw the Acura TLX transmission have this recall, I figured the 200 will also. This transmission is produced at the ZF plant in South Carolina. They produce this transmission for the v6 200, TLX and Range Rover. I believe another car also but cannot remember. The 9speed in the 4 cylinder 200 and the Jeep's are produced in Indiana. But it isn't a huge number of cars. Remember other manufacturer have had similar issues. Example: GM has had a similar issue with a great deal many more cars rolling away in park. Even the venerable Toyota had recalled 615,000 Sienna's for this issue."
Thanks for the heads up. - Bionic_ManExplorerI doubt there is a lot of cross shopping of Renegade vs Wrangler. Two very different markets.

I do know one thing for sure, that Renegade is right up there with the ugliest vehicles ever made. Are there any sales of this thing?
Has not gone on sale yet. It should be on the market very soon. - 6_7_tow_rigExplorerI do know one thing for sure, that Renegade is right up there with the ugliest vehicles ever made. Are there any sales of this thing?

The Renegade in the video is a Trailhawk. The rear locker adds great offroad ability. The problem is the 9spd transmission. Hopefully FCA figures out how to program them.
Looks like FCA has more problems with the ZF9 speed.

There's no question in my mind I would choose the Wrangler out of these two.
We are doing a lemon law with the 2014 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. For reasons unknown our 9spd tranny has been flawless.
I would also choose the Wrangler Rubicon. wcjeep wrote:

- The_Mad_NorskyExplorerNeat video. Thanks for posting this.
Wonder how my dually would do on that course???? Turning radius may be to my disadvantage, but think traction wise (4WD) it would do OK. - TrackrigExplorer IIThat course was embarrassingly simple. Anyone's grandmother could have handled it in her Desoto with a decent set of tires.
