My snap pulled out from the door twice, the anchor and snap is glued into the door with construction adhesive now (hopefully third times a charm).
the OP, looks like great memories for ya'. Good to see it.
That dang snap. Ours pulled apart from the strap. How the heck do you fasten a rivet-set style snap on a strap that's stapled to the door trim, and you don't want to mess up the trim by pulling on the strap? Rather than use a hammer, I used a c-clamp to squeeze the snap's rivet tool over the snap's stem. It took a little patience to get it all lined up, but it mushroomed out nice and is still secure, awaiting the door side to fail. I should do a preemptive strike on the door and get it over with. Possibly, a new fastening system.
Like this? Yep. Same problem. Happened within a couple days of purchasing the camper. I'll get around to gluing the stripped out snap back in one of these days. The problem, as I see it, is that they installed it too far to the left, leaving space for the door to slide open and rip the snap out when you hit the brakes.

Thus, I moved it to the right taking up the slack in the strap, not allowing the door to move either way. Plus, for the time being, it hides the stripped out hole
