For the first oil change have the dealer do it. Oil filter can be really tight for first change.
What is to prevent the shop tech from putting it back on real tight???
Once I do an oil change on a vehicle I don't need a filter wrench as I can remove by hand, as I only turn 3/4 turn after the filter contacts the sealing surface. I have never had a leak.
You either got gorilla hands or are borderline not tight enough imo. It's a rare filter that I can take off without channel locks or filter wrench. But I might just be a puss.....lol
I learned my lesson in about 1967 doing an oil change for my dad on the family 1959 Ford Galaxy with a 352, I ended up destroying the filter to get it off.
It was at that time I quit putting clean oil on the gasket surface! I now dip my finger in the old oil and spread that on the gasket, then carefully tighten 3/4 of a turn after the gasket contacts the sealing surface. Only have filter wrenches in my tool bog for the first change, and have NEVER had one leak.
I am old enough to retire, and don't think my hands are and stronger than the average person.
Think of it as a compression fitting in plumbing, if you over tighten them that is when they leak!
