This is how it works. My Sons friend in TX was pulled over in his Chevy Dually. He was licensed for 12K. He received a ticket for $1,200 for being 5K over his LICENSED weight. Nothing was mentioned about his rear axle or tire capacity even tho his 4 rear tires don't add up to the scaled RAW. OUCH!!!
