That's what I was thinking. Won't fill the tanks.. if I add 1,500 - 2,000 lbs, I'd be at 15,500 which should be fine.. right?
A 15500 lb trailer may mean a 3100 lb pin weight.
Now add a 200 lb hitch = 3300 lbs
Now add another 100 lb of stuff to the truck = 3400 lbs
Now add 500-600 lbs for passengers in the truck = 4000 lbs.
Your looking at a max loaded or a over loaded 3500 SRW truck.
A couple of points here......When some one says they pull a 16xxx gvwr trailer doesn't mean it actually weighs that much.
And a trailer dry weight.....its ccc....and its gvwr all need to be taken into consideration in estimating trailer weights.
