A 19k trailer is not going to have a 5k pin weight.
Read what I said. The 5000 number was how much total load the truck will have sitting over the trucks rear axles with a 19k trailer.
As one poster says the 3500 SRW rear axle may weigh in the 3500 lb range which leaves 3500 lbs for a payload....not just the trailers pin weight.
3500 plus the 5k load in the bed is well above rear suspension tire and wheel ratings was my point.
I'm not willing to tell anyone those OEM wheels .....and OEM tires.....and the rear suspension are rated to carry anymore weight than that.
Example is GM online ordering guide says the 3500 SRW comes OEM with LT265/70-18". Tire rack shows 3560 lbs capacity = 7120 lbs.
I couldn't find a link to GM wheel load rating but a thread on one of the GM diesel truck webs says the 18" wheels have a 3600 lb rating = 7200 lbs.
The op will need a tire and wheel and heavier springs to carry a possible 7500 lb load in the bed.....which pin weight is the biggest part of that load.
