Well I will disagree with that! Currently renting an Opal diesel manual here in Ireland and most annoying feature I have seen.
I don't sit at a light with the clutch depressed, so release clutch and engine "shuts off" starts when clutch is depressed, and really not ready when I have transmission in gear and releasing again! :M

Well less responsive throttle response can be very dangerous!
It may be fine in normal city driving, but crossing a highway not so much!
Yes, I do understand the concept and reason, I see a wrongful lawsuit in some car makers future because of this feature.
We have already seen deaths due to people not turning off their engines when parking in the garage!
