I would look real careful at any Ford diesel!
Their rep is pretty spotted.
Actually Ford makes a good diesel. Its when they outsource to International that problems begin to occur.
Someone always has to spill their kool aid on any truck post that is not their brand.
Who's spilling their kook-aid? I'm just stating facts. Ford's problems with diesels came from the outsourced 6.0 and 6.4. Are you looking for drama?
I was agreeing with you. My comment was about the troll.
Then I offer my apologies. Somehow I misread that statement. I was only trying to be objective. Maybe my time on other truck sites have made me paranoid. - FordloverExplorerInterestingly, one of the test mules driving around with the diesel has the heavy tow package mirrors. Might not mean anything, but it could mean there are plans for a bulked up diesel F-150 designed to pull heavy (for a '1/2 ton').

I would think putting a Diesel in would lower the pay load unless the really beef up the suspension. Diesels are really heavy. they eat up a lot of payload, Even on 250, 2500, and 3500s. Which is why "some 2500 diesels have no more payload than a 1500 gas.
The diesel being proposed to use is only 3 liters, less than half the size of the 2500/3500 trucks. Ram's Ecodiesel only weighs about 150-200 pounds more than the Hemi.
Take 200lb off a 1500lb payload. Not too good.
In a Max Payload/Trailer package an F150 EB has a LOT more payload than 1500lbs. Don't think Ford will have any issues maintaining the trucks payload capabilities. In the "grocery getter" editions it really doesn't matter, most people who buy them haven't got a clue or really don't care - "it's a pickup, it'll tow anything....right?"
I know people who own EB's they bought off the lot and didn't even know it had twin turbo's till I told them. Asking about payload got me a deer in the headlights look. - TerryallanExplorer II
