He he, the op gives the specs of his trailer and they are within the capabilities of the 1/2 ton. Immediately someone recommends a 3/4 ton and before the first page is full folks have recommended 1 ton. I just love how know it all none engineers know better then the folks who designed the trucks.
Since "bigger is always better" and I've done some engineering I'm going to recommend also. I recommend to the op that nothing less then a tandem axle Kenworth with a minimum of 550 horsepower and a 15 spd tranny should work great providing he never loads his Radio Flyr wagon to gross weight. "You can never have too much truck." Might want to consider adding a tag or two just to be on the safe side.
So true lol. An HD F150 is a great daily driver, the only thing that threw this thread to the chicken littles, was the OP thinking that he would calculate tongue weight at 15% of GVWR, reality is the tongue would likely be half to 60% of that number.
To the OP, you will find that there is a lot of knuckle dragging on this site (case and point the other thread where a guy is buying a truck to tow a 3000# rpod and 2 posters immediately suggest a 3/4 ton). 9000# actual weight is not a big deal with the F150, even 10000#, and if you want good daily mileage, the 3.5 EB is a torque monster, with a fantastic 10 speed, way ahead of what the current HD trucks offer as a DD.
