No, not even close. The F150 axle is probably designed and rated for the same weight. The F250 axle is likely designed for 10,000 lbs per axle and derated to 6500 lbs by Ford, then placed in an application in which it will see about 5000 lbs before that F250 reaches its 10,000 lbs rating. There is a huge difference between working at 95% (or higher) of your rated design and working at 65% (or lower) f your rated design.
All that being said, I'm sure that the F150 will handle the weight just fine. I doubt Ford over rated its axles and will lead to catastrophic failure. The point is that the F250 will handle those weights with ease in comparison to the F150. When you are spec'ing a truck and the price is that close, I think a lot of us would err on the side of caution and get the larger vehicle.
