While your statement is true, the OP said he tows 5 to 6 times a year. So, for the other 359 days in the year.....
People need to remember, even when you go on an RV trip, most folks only tow for a day to get to their destination, hang out and enjoy camping/RVing for a week or two, then tow another day to get home. It's an infrequent use scenario.
Logic says, for most folks who are not full timers/retired/etc.... Buy a truck/SUV that will safely do the job of towing, but is best for daily driving duties -- that's what it'll be used for 99% of the time.
