Haven't met too many people that enjoyed their 6.4 diesel and wanted to stay with it. In fact, most of the people that abandoned the diesel engine did so after owning a problematic 6.0 or 6.4.
And the other side of the coin... A friend at work has a 6.4 with over 250k miles. Only work done to the engine was a idler pulley was replaced. He did have to replace the transmission at ~250k miles most likely because it still had the factory transmission oil in it. His previous truck was a 04 6.0 that provided great service but sold it after it got struck by lightning due to electrical gremlins. His next truck will be a diesel.
Myself I have a 6.7PSD truck with 135k miles. Last week I had to take it in to have 2 EGT sensors replaced (2nd CEL)and went ahead and had the serpentine belt replaced. Great truck! My previous truck was a 05 6.0 PSD and traded it in at 170k miles that provided great service. My next truck will be a diesel.
