I would have thought it would have done way better than the 370hp/800lb-ft 2015 Ram 2500 6.7L they tested a few years ago that towed 12,500 lbs at 7:33 with 4.4 mpg.
The test with the 2015 Ram wasn't done with the same criteria. The Ford was held to 60MPH max speed the Ram wasn't. In the Ram's video you can see the speedo at 65 or more. In the Ford he stated he could have broke the speed limit all the way up the hill.
Well then I wonder what kind of fuel economy the Ram would have gotten if it was held to 60 mph as well. Although he would be lying if he said he could have broke the speed limit all the way up the hill. When they took the decibel reading, he clearly said he was wide open throttle yet not exceeding the speed limit.
