- FireRobExplorerOops. I read your Sig after I posted and see you already bought/own the truck. My thoughts are about useless on the subject at hand. Sorry
- FireRobExplorerWhen I got my current Ram that came with the prep package from the factory I was looking at a completely different truck that didn't have the factory installed prep package. While negotiating on the truck I ended up not getting in the end, I had worked into the deal that the dealer would install the puck system and offered to do it for the same price as it would have said on the vehicle sticker options list of a truck that did have it factory installed($400). I know I was dealing with Ram and I didn't even go that route but point being talk to the dealership and see what they can do. If they can't or won't help check with a different dealership before you totally dismiss the idea of getting what you want
- 4x4ordExplorer IIII checked on B&W's website and they recommend a different hitch (GNRK 1117) for the 4wd vs the 2wd (GNRK 1116)
- 4x4ordExplorer IIII had to remove the bed bolts to install the B&W hitch in my 2011. I installed the B&W Turnoverball in a Napa parking lot 2000 miles from home and had no issues. You likely could download the B&W Turnoverball installation instructions for the 2017 Ford and get an idea from reading them.
- StirCrazyModeratorI bought it to install in my 14, after breaking three sockets trying to remove one bed bolt I broke down and got the dealer to do it. if you have the time you can cut the old heads away with a grinder until they pop then put new bolts in, the kit does come with new bolts. I didn't have the time and it was to cold other wise I would have done it myself.
Steve - 1jeepExplorer IIhonestly doesn't sound right, but looking at my 2016 factory prep It almost looks like it went in before the bed went on.
- buc1980ExplorerNot the 2017
- cradawgExplorerI've got a 2015 F350 4x2 that came with the factory hitch.
- agesilausExplorer IIII've never heard that before, why would they restrict it to 4WD?! I'm sure that there are many 2WD SD owners with the prep pack. If your dealer told you that you'd better check with someone else.
- buc1980ExplorerI don't have no choice Ford don't install on 4x2
