I can see why ford would have changed the f350 drw gearing, the current model must have been cutting into the f450 territory. My truck has the same gearing, gvwr and is rated for a higher cargo capacity than the 450 due to its slightly lower weight. Now if you want/need 4:30 gearing you have no choice but to jump into a 450.
You can now order the DRW 350 with 4.10 gears though. Still a lot of gear for the amount of torque these put out.
