2017 FORD Truck camper roll testing video. Comments?

FORD Truck camper roll testing.

Looks pretty decent.
I'd say it simulates a 9 or 10 foot camper with a short cabover like an east west bed not north south. It also looks for the most part to simulate the height of a smaller pop up TC.
I suppose the test isn't valuable with knowing what the numbers are. It looks like it's made from 2" square steel so it could get heavy fast. You decide.

  • I'm sure I am not the only one that wishes they would have used a camper for the test. I also wonder if that cage weights the suspension down like say.... an AF 990.
  • Neat! I'd seen a shorter version of this video before.

Still, impressive to see that they even test for situations like this w/ truck camper on board.
  • I'd be surprised if my truck and camper were that stable. We're looking at getting a new 350 XL. Maybe a 350 XLT if the cost doesn't get too high.
  • I've had to do a couple of last second maneuvers on the interstate, but I've never had mine skid like that. :) It would be interesting to have some of us invited to use our own trucks that have modified them for carrying a TC for a comparison.
