2017 Ram 2500- Airbag Question

I have the Firestone bags on my Ram 2500 , no complaints . What is the advantage of inside the coils ?

Helped a buddy install bags in the coils on his 1500 Ram. Pretty easy install and they’ve worked as advertised for a fraction of the cost of standard bags.

Schwab is very proud of their products and service. So proud I don't go there anymore unless I'm in a pinch. Check out etrailer - they have a good selection, fast shipping and good service.

Ya I just went to les schwabs again to price out the bags that go between tire and coil spring which im going to do and they wanted $764 installed. I about crapped, amazon has them for $314, just the bags price was 556$ at LS

I had LS install airbags on our dodge and a nice job but only kept that truck for 14K miles. My let down on LW was how they mounted tires and not knowing how use use the torque wrench. 2 local stores same issue. Discount tire and costco know the proper method here. chevman

I have Timbrens which replace the bumpstops so they sit outboard of the coil. I think outboard might be an advantage because it effectively widens out the suspension, if you get bags in your coils you won't get that widening.

I have too many reasons to list. NOT the same as it used to be. CHEAP PARTS TIRES AND WHEELS.

If you like someone up yer butt before getting out of your rig have at it.

Sorry you had a bad experience (I'm guessing).

All the stores are run independently. Most of the them do good work. Though I agree not all.

I found a good one, and have stopped buying tires and shocks anywhere else.

I had them replace my coil-airbags as well, since I didn't have the time. The price may not be the cheapest on that kind of work, but the warranty is better than anywhere else.

To the OP - the coil airbags work fine for lighter load-leveling. On my front end, they're good for about 1,500 pounds. Might be a little more on your truck since the coils have a slightly larger internal diameter. But if you're looking for thousands of pounds of load-leveling, outboard airbags would do better (at the expense of restricting suspension travel in most installs. I'm not familiar with the specs on your coil suspension setup).
