Biggest issue with the new Super Dutys is the pricetag. Ouch. Our neighbor had a reservation on one at something like $70,000. He ended up cancelling it and bought a Ram instead.
Price is actually cheaper than previous truck. The F150 is what went up in price.
My F150 MSRP is $46845 and the a new F250 with the exact same options but 6.2L V8 instead of 5.0L V8, and Tow mirrors instead of standard mirrors. The new F250 is $47690. A 2017 F150 will likely go up to match or exceed the F250 price. The F250 is a bargain compared with pricing of all 1/2 ton and HD duty trucks. It's a first year model so I'd likely wait until 2018 to buy though.
New F250 has an additional 1000 lbs of payload and 1500 lbs of tow capacity over my F150.
I didn't go with the '16 F250 based entirely on fuel mileage of the F250 at 12 mpg mixed opposed to my F150 18.5 - 19.0 mpg mixed mileage. Since I commute to work with my truck, mileage was a big reason to stick with the new F150. With 10,900 lbs of towing and 1890 lbs of payload, it worked good for my rving needs.
