I've had a 2015 Ram 2500 with 6.7 Cummins and now have a 2016 Ram 2500 with 6.4 Hemi and 4.10.
I don't think the Hemi is sad. It's a great engine if it fits your specific needs. I will say the Cummins is much better towing heavy and I would still have it had it not been destroyed by flood.
The Hemi tows my 12,500 lb fiver great and I'm not going any bigger in future. I'm retired and put less than 10K miles on it a year so the diesel just didn't make $$$ sense for me.
Not everyone needs to tow more than 15K or puts enough miles on the truck for the diesel to make sense. For those folks, I think the 6.4 Hemi gasser with 4.10 does a good job. I'm happy with mine.
