Read the link, the 5.0L is not being replaced. It is getting the 10 speed trans and the ignition start/ stop feature though.
The 5.0L is a great engine and I prefer it to the 3.5L Ecoboost. It's power is much more consistent and it's even stronger off the line. Ecoboost 3.5L gets stronger in the lower rpms, at the upper gears due to some funky engine control. Maybe the new 2017 3.5L Ecoboost responds differently but for '16, I liked the 5.0L better.
