Ford's choice for a dually diesel is 4.10 or 3.55. For the srw it's 3.31 or 3.55. My dually has the limited slip 3.55. We are pulling about 16K with our fifth wheel and I am very pleased with the performance. We spend 6 weeks or so each summer in the Colorado Rockies and have no problems keeping up our speed on the mountain roads. Most trips we average about 10 mpg, sometimes a little more.
There is a noticeable difference in pulling power between it and the '15 GMC dually diesel we had before the Ford, for the better. The GMC had a 3.73. I wanted the 3.55 and have not regretted it one bit.
