Not sure why people are hating on the tailgate. They say it has a 350# rating and you should never load anything into a bed using the tailgate anyway! No tailgate is rated for heavy loads and no manufacture will warranty a tailgate if you load your riding mower into the bed using the tailgate. Can it be done yep, should it be done NOPE. I always removed the tailgate when loading my mower to cut my in-laws grass in my 2004 Ram.
As for looks I like it but then I like the 2019 Ram also. IMO the Ford is about the ugliest thing on four or six wheels bar none! The Blue Oval gang loves to talk about Ram's badging but they turn a blind eye to their brands badging. The Ford Platinum and King Ranch are the worst offenders of oversize badges of any brand truck. Then there are those butt ugly headlamps, who came up with those monstrosities OMG LOL.
Bottom line I just test drove a new 2019 Ram and Ford is light years behind it as for the new GM twins they are looking like they will give Ram a run for it's money.
