I wonder what the HD division guys at GM think of that marketing strategy?
Probably think it's just another marketing strategy
Well anyone with a grain of intelligence could then extrapolate that they (The GM 1500 diesel marketing team) are, in a round about way, praising the Cummins inline 6 in the Ram, and saying it's superior to their "V" design 6.6L HD diesel.
Kind of seems contrary to the usual automotive theme of "all of our stuff is the best" that they usually spout.
Anyway, it'll be interesting to see how it holds up being a clean sheet design engine with a relatively new transmission.
Try to connect the dots when gm went from inline engines in the previous gen Colorado trucks back to v6 engines in the current gen Colorado trucks
Yea that inline 5 was much to do about nothing (special), V-6 economy with V-4 power.
Agreed! My wife had a Hummer H3 with that dog of an engine. 4 speed auto and 4.10 axles, but huge tires. It was forever shifting in and out of overdrive when going down the road. The slightest grade or headwind would cause a downshift.
