2020 Cummins IKE pull

Not surprised about the time going up as it’s very similar to the Duramax.

Also I don’t like that truck automatically applies the brakes.

Like I said no one really knows how much fuel these trucks use. FISH what you say now?

So as 4x4ord mentions the 10 speed would have not made any difference. Did y'all see how cool the trans runs? YUP just like mine nice and cool.

Did y'all see how well the truck keeps the truck at speed downhill with the cruise on as I have mentioned many times? Heck I was holding 35mph at 14% in second for miles at 33k combined.

Rear air heck yea I know how well it works and yes my 15's steering is like being on rails unloaded and at full RAWR of 9,750# with a combined 35k.

SAE Towing capacity is 3k higher than the other two.

So bottom line I will gladly take a truck that is a bit slower up the hill with a "True Medium Duty" engine and transmission that will do this day after day and WILL get me down the grade with ZERO brake applications and the BEST part COLD brakes!

I agree on the trailer brake application. BUT did the trailer brakes come on?

How about the fuel economy you were so proud of?

It really concerned me when I first discovered that my truck was applying the brakes. Now that I understand the system I'm kind of impressed with how well it works. When I don't like it is when towing with cruise on and I come to a little coulee. It used to be the truck would gain a little speed going down and I would manually start feeding it a little coal while starting up the other side. When the truck slowed to the speed limit I would take my foot off the accelerator and let cruise take over. Now I start going down a hill and I have to either let the truck brake, hit cancel cruise, or step on the accelerator going down.

The computer is applying the wheel brakes both truck and trailer.

True Medium Duty engine and transmission?

I know the Cummins is available in the many medium duty applications, but what other applications is the AS69RC in? There are other models of Aisin transmissions used in medium duty trucks just like there are other models of Allison's, but what other medium duty truck is the AS69RC specifically used in outside of Ram? I also know that the Powerstroke and its transmission is available from class 2b all the way up to Class 8 trucks(yes there is a class 8 F750). In fact, both the 6R140 and 10R140 were both specifically made for these ligh-medium-heavy duty truck classes.

It is a silly debate. What is a medium duty anything? Answer, anything used in a medium duty application. Pretty simple answer.

As far as the trans temps. Another type of straw man argument. The other transmission that is designed to run at a hotter temp is somehow operating less efficiently or reliably than one designed to operate at a lower temp. Kind of like debating a ton of feathers is lighter than a ton of bricks.

I think we are at the point where we can call the pick up truck applications of these engines/transmissions true medium duty applications.

I agree and they have been that way for years. This ridiculous argument has been made and counterpointed way more than its worth.
