I don't like admitting this, but from a performance standpoint, your right. I don't think Ford has ever done this well on the Ike test. It has taken forever, but Ford finally delivered on their spec sheet. As for the looks, that is subjective, and personally I have grown to like the GM HD look. Others may not...o well. The performance gap is what I am not happy about. I knew the aspbeating with the 6.6 gas was coming (the lack of gears and/or the 3.73's in the gas engine made it a predictable outcome). I am surprised/concerned at the Duramax performance in comparison. After years of the GM trucks being dominate on the hill, I guess turn a bout is fair play, hopefully this calls GM out to find an answer. If I liked driving the first loser...I would drive a GT350 instead of a ZL1. Sorry... Fish, gotta get a win where I can right now...lol.
I wouldn't mind owning a ZL1 and it still has the good looking front end compared to the obnoxious front ends of the other Camaro's. And this is coming from a previous '85 IROC Z owner.
Those were the best looking cars back then. I sure enjoyed mine.
They were, I have had a 76, 78 RS, 89 IROC 350, 96 SS #2156, and my current 15 ZL1. The IROC was hands down the best looking Camaro ever in my opinion. I wont say build quality was great, but the car was simply awesome to look at. I don't think I have ever been as proud about a car as I was the day I brought that home. - IdaDExplorerMakes me want to dump my wimpy diesel and step up to the Godzilla.

I'm in the midst of a truck hunt as we speak.
Impressed with the 7.3 low rpm torque, simple durable push rod engine.
Actually love the looks of the new Chevy/GM.
AND the 6.4 Hemi keeps grabbing my attention.
Simply may go with who can give me the most truck out the door dressed in 2500 series. - 2001400exExplorer

Well how the Ford performed was subjective. Yes if you want to pull 30,000 pounds a minute quicker than yes Ford wins. But it was a lot louder doing so with the fan on most of the ride. I want to see a more realistic 18k pounds or something with a fifth wheel RV. That's the most common purpose for consumers (not businesses). And measure everything including sound level, EGTs, etc.
For the gas engines, Chevy has always been behind in the HD segment. If I wanted a gas engine to do work, Ford would be my choice. I had one 6.0 gas Chevy and was over it pretty quickly. ksss wrote:
