Mostly I wouldn't be afraid of the truck but a 10 speed transmission has got to be very complicated (that is, expensive). I would personally want to see the trans be out a year or so before I bought one.
I may be headed this direction for 2021, by then my '05 will be 16 years old and have likely around 300,000 miles on it.
