I do not believe that in adaptive cruise with EB on auto that the brakes are applied unless there is a vehicle in front causing the need to be slowed down. I will call my expert on Rams Monday and report back.
We use Cummins 6.7 in Utility and Non Utility grade applications for back up generation. Cummins, CAT, Volvo, MTI, are all utility grade. Generac, Kohler, and others would be commercial grade for large applications. There are many others out there besides these serving various markets such as Wartsila who is in the US market w large plus generators.
The thing about Cummins is that the pricing is competitive in both Utility and Commercial markets. Plus as I talked about earlier these CTD can just be electronically dialed in for lots of applications. Listen I love Ford trucks, GM trucks and Ram. There was a time I would have bought nothing but a Ford. I’ve owned Chevy and GM trucks. Ram is my favorite because the interiors are just gorgeous. The Laramie Longhorn is just plush.
But the Cummins is just great to have and no doubt will serve me well. You don’t see Ford or GM putting their motors in my Utility world. I mean it’s possible I just haven’t seen them. To be fair I haven’t looked for them.
But the ease of adjustment for differing horsepower and torque applications, competitive pricing just give Cummins an edge.
