- Grit_dogNavigator^ I hear ya.
I got a ride in a new GT350 Mustang last year as well. 6 speed and it hit HARD! Maybe the manual trans, maybe the more hp (but less tq), but it felt noticeably faster than our SRT. - spectaExplorer

I hope so. Maybe the 750 hp 5.0 they put in the Shelby F-150.
I'd never own anything with a v-6 in it.
The R will be your huckleberry then, but 250hp and 140ft-lbs less than a Hellcat motor out of a light weight V6 isn't anything to sneeze at.
If 450hp and over 500ft-lbs with a flat torque curve doesn't put a bump in your shorts, then.....
You don't seem like the $75k toy pickup truck kinda guy anyways. (Neither am I, but I'd go jump some dumb@sses truck if he let me!!)
Nope, they really don't interest me.
I have a few friends that tow with 1/2 ton Ecoboost and they run extremely hot pulling grades.
I'd rather have a V-8.
Here's me driving a friends new Shelby GT350. I love HP as much as the next guy, I just don't care for a V-6. - GrodymanExplorerLame video. The takeaway for me is that nobody really needs this truck, if the only thing they can come up with is a nature-fest fast and furious just to have a cup of coffee. But thanks.

Another video of what our truck “can” do, but shouldn’t, because they’ll deny the warranty claims when owners show up to dealers with bent frames and suspension damage from doing the same things. :S
Are those problems Ford has been having with current an previous Raptors??
The new Raptor is almost 300 hp shy of the new Ram off road truck.
WHY Ford puts little V-6s in their performance trucks is beyond me.
Why not supercharge the 5.0L Coyote engine?
Google “raptor bent frame” and read to your hearts content. There is (was?) a weak point at the rear shock mount and bump stop where the frames would buckle. The soft suspension would bottom out and hit the bump stop. There is even one article where a club of 14 owners went off roading and 10 came back with bent frames. Ford denied claims stating “customer abuse” even though their own ads show it being jumped etc.
And this is Ford's fault? Toyota showed an add pulling the space shuttle. Should they warranty a truck if someone tried pulling "only" a 100,000 B train?
There's enough censorship and liability and warning labels already. Don't be a Curmudgeon and berate Ford for actually showing a little leg!
If you're dumb enough to Luke Duke your pickup truck, you "should" be rich enough to cover the bill!
Anyone whos jumped a vehicle before knows that they don't often land like in the movies (they do land like the crash scenes).
BTW, it's Dukes of Hazard Jumps that will bend frames, not just getting a little air over a rise in the trail. - camp-n-familyExplorer

Have you driven an Ecoboost? Might change your mind.
Your run of the mill 2.7 / 3.5 truck with a tune would put any production truck, from SRT10s and Lightnings of the past, to Chevy 6.2s of today, to shame.
Only the TRX would give a tuned EB trouble. Even then, to truly beat them the Hellcat motor would need a pulley (TRX weighs much more). - spectaExplorer

There was a hint at the end of the video when the Raptor was doing donuts by forming a "R" in the dirt. This will be the Raptor R "Racing" which will be a supercharged V8. Stay tuned...
