- LwiddisNomad IIIMaximum tow weight is one thing but PAYLOAD max runs out first. What is the payload?
"I'm wondering what kind of trailer I should buy."
A very light one. - RetiredRealtorRExplorerThe platform for the 2021 GC is sourced from Alfa-Romeo, replacing the previous M-Class Mercedes platform. Whether this is good news or bad news, time will tell, but just some info I thought I'd pass along.
- Bionic_ManExplorerI have a 2014 EcoDiesel GC. Does great with my 7000 pound boat. I'm interested in both the new GC and the Wagoneer/Grand Wagoneer but will likely wait one more year.
If you go that route, look for the self leveling suspension. Makes a huge difference. - valhalla360Navigator

Answer or opinion will depend on what drivetrain it has.
You could have anything from sub 300hp and base model brakes to 700hp and 6 piston Brembos.
Having enough HP to get the load moving and brakes to stop it are unlikely to be an issue.
It's suspension that gives out first. - Grit_dogTrailblazerAnswer or opinion will depend on what drivetrain it has.

You need to look at the particular vehicle by VIN to see the actual capabilities, and installed equipment. - valhalla360NavigatorNot sure about the 2021 but last summer saw one pulling a modest 24ft trailer up a steep grade...except to park road was dead level.
Check the payload limits. A 6200lb trailer is going to have a hitch weight of around 800-900lb. Add in people and gear in the jeep and it may struggle to stay within payload limits.
I'd be looking at single axle trailers under 20ft and make sure to get a good weight distributing hitch.
