Rumor is Toyota is ditching the V8's and installing a 3.5 twin turbo and perhaps a hybrid configuration.

That’s ballsy, IMO.
I mean, a lot of people like the Ecoboost and it’s definitely a great option, but there are way more “big V8s” sold every year and I think it will hurt tundra sales if the only big engine is a high rpm rice grinder motor. Heck, their 5.7 is powerful and dependable. I’d be slow to take that option off the table
Problem with the “big V8” is they are always thirsty (especially true with the Toyota 5.7). Turbo engines are more efficient when not worked and you keep your foot out of it (like during EPA testing).
I think it’s a smart move, and an engine they already have in their portfolio on their Lexus line. - joshuajimExplorer IIFUGLY !

I can't help what I think when I see the Tundra T*RD. LOL Not the best acronym.
Me too neither. I’m just gonna say it with no asterisk:
“Oh look boss, another Tundra TuRD Pro!!! BTW, you feeling the need for a pit stop? I sure am. That burrito grande I had last night wants out!”

If this is the new trend in trucks.... Cyber Truck is starting to look better and better.
Nissan: We have the ugliest truck.
Chevy HD: No, we do.
Toyota: Hold my beer.
Edit: Oops forgot about the Tesla truck. That thing fell from the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down.
