- Wow... Towing just got easier!
- Grit_dogNavigatorReally impressive!
Still perplexed by the 6.8L, but...
Does this now nullify all the criticism Ram has had over the years for offering "2 diesels?"
Asking for a friend... - 4x4ordExplorer III^^^ I think it did. I suspect the HO Powerstroke will have a torque curve that looks very close to this:
Which generates a power curve that will look like this: - Cummins12V98Explorer IIIImpressive numbers.
Someone please explain how you can get 8k payload on a F450 when the GVWR is 14k??? - 4x4ordExplorer III^^^ I don’t think you can. 8k payload is probably a 2wd F350 dually single cab XL model with the 6.8 litre gas engine.
- Grit_dogNavigatorWith helium in the tires….and to think someone was cautioning against adding 100lbs dead load to the back of a HD truck here in another thread!
- LwiddisExplorer IIThat’s big power!
- 4x4ordExplorer IIIIn 1992 I ran a Western Star with a Cummins Big Cam 400. I believe that engine was a 14 litre which made 400 HP at 2100 rpm and I think it made peak torque of 1150 lbft at 1200 rpm. I thought that was big power. The combined loaded truck and trailer weight was 87000 lbs.
- SoonDockinExplorer IIYou know that extra power will cost you a ton. Saw a 12k price add on for picking the HO Diesel. That's over the standard diesel when I configured a F450. Hard to pick it just for bragging.

Im certain that is an error on their build and price website. The HO is still pricey for what it is but it’s a $2500 charge over the regular 6.7 diesel and I think it’s supposed to be $12,495 price increase over the 6.8 liter gas engine.
