- 4x4ordExplorer IIII priced out a new Ram dually Limited. I was considering trying a Ram out while I wait for my ‘23 Ford to come in. What ultimately lead to me sticking with what I have is fear that the 2023 Ram is apt to take a big hit in depreciation when the ‘24 comes out with 8 gears and 480 horsepower / 1200 lbft of torque.

"24 comes out with 8 gears and 480 horsepower / 1200 lbft of torque"
OK, where is this posted as fact? - 4x4ordExplorer III^^^ It’s not posted as fact anywhere as far as I know….. it’s just me thinking it’s pretty tough to compete in a 500 HP/10 speed market with 420 ponies and 6 gears.

Aboot as overdue as they are to boot the 6speed slush boxes out the door.
And assuming they are still going with ZF if/when they change, it ain’t going to be soon.
Buddy who is a mid level manager at ZF, different division, says there’s not only no agreement or plans to ramp up the Powerline trans for Rams, everything around it is kinda dead, no new news. He!!, when Ram first started testing ZF Powerline transmissions, it was all hush hush because Ram was gonna be poised to be the first of the big 3 HD trucks with more than 6 gears.
Now they’re still selling 2007 model transmissions behind their diesels as fast as they can crank them out.
I wouldn’t change either if I was them. Not until they quit being able to sell all the trucks they make every year even though 2/3 of them have the tired old 68rfe and the rest have a slightly newer albeit very durable 6 speed… - Bionic_ManExplorerIn before the "RAM doesn't need more gears" comment......

And noise level by running lower RPMs. And the simplicity of only having ONE transmission for their HD line. And getting competitive in HP/TQ in the 2500s….. - MFLNomad II

You will lose credibility by making these type statements. If you would have said guessing, or if, in that remark, you wouldn't be providing false info.
Yes, you did clear that up, after being confronted.
