We only do the RV CAMPING around here and very little RV TRAVELING.
I can pull my 4200lbs low profile camper with no wind load from here in Virginia to Gatlingburg TN (450miles) on one tank of gas in my 2010 F150 truck (Mine has the 26 gallon tank option on it). I get about the same gas mileage when i don't have my OFF-ROAD POPUP trailer being towed hehe. Guess my truck doesn't know the trailer is back there...
We have only the basics along with us on our trips...
I wave at the big boys as they go roaring by going down the roadways and them I see them pulled off at a truck stop somewhere down the road getting more fuel... The 8 to 10 MPG doesn't seem to get them very far down the roads...
The strange things is then I usually pull up behind them checking in at the camp ground in TN somewhere...
All depends on your lifestyle I reckon...
We drank our good ole fresh ground and brewed Bean Coffee and watch High Def TV just like they do sitting around the bonfire enjoying ourselves... Go figure...
