I bent the drive shaft when I hit a GM spare tire :M laying in the middle of US-23 and had to replace it this summer. The new DS with joints and CB was $595 my cost and the truck rides very smooth now.
I know the two piece DS on all trucks Ford, GM and Ram all have the same issues back when they where using the square CB design. With that long of a DS you can never get the correct pinon to CB angle. Talked with a drive-line manufacture and he said pick which why you drive most often (empty or loaded) and shim the CB for that angle. Since we just sold the TT Saturday I guess empty was the right choice.

Just dump the two piece when needed, that carrier bearing is your weak link.

No one makes one for the 2WD LWB trucks, from your link "EXCEPT 2WD trucks with the 2-piece shaft.". Trust me I spent 3 weeks trying to get one. If I had a 2WD SWB or a 4WD with a transfer case I could use one. But a 2WD LWB the drive shaft is to long for a one piece to work.
