Bear in mind that I'm the OP, so I admittedly don't know ....
But my concern would be that any movement at all in that slotted hole would eventually enlarge the hole and/or wear at the bolt. And if it moves when you set the trailer on it, is it moving as you apply the brakes, hit bumps, drag race that other guy with the Winnebago? OK. Being silly, but it would appear to my weak little inexperienced mind that any slop at all would be a bad thing.
