Also, you do not level a trailer by the tilt of the hitch head. The head tilt is for adjusting the amount of preload of the WD bars, and therefor the amount of tension on them for a given number of chain links.
I ask you again to please take the time to read those two links I provided earlier to get your new hitch set up correctly. Your old one WAS NOT - based on your statements here.

1) Tilt hitch head preloads bars... I know and agree, but my bars are not rated high enough and so with more tilt angle comes more tension on the bars... bending them to scary levels, I fear breakage. So I backed-off the tilt and just worked with the amount of lift I could get.
2) Height of ball dictates trailer level... I know and agree with that too, I have not stated otherwise.
