It’s not holding the Dmax back unless one doesn’t believe the new power ratings on the L5P. Saying it’s the limiting factor also suggests that GM is false advertising with their numbers and don’t ever let the engine make the advertised power.
Which if that is the case then how does GM magically smoke the other 2 like cheap cigars in the power to the ground department?
I love the internet! One guy has a 20 year old diesel that will sled pull up the Ike at 80mph dusting everything in its wake save for the sports cars headed to Vail for a wine tasting and another guy says the Alli 1000 is a bucket of bolts that wouldn’t pull a sick ____ off a ____ pot. (You old guys know that saying...)
I guess name the ONLY big 3 diesel pickup that has not changed their engine displacement or engines (plural) completely and has not changed their transmission either in what? 17 years now?
The op asked a question, GM isn't even trying to answer it so some of us have ventured a guess. Since you don't like the guesses so far what is your favorite answer to the question? Please enlighten us.
I will say that I have been noticing hot shots pulling some pretty impressive trailers behind their Fords and Rams and they seem to be doing the job so far.
I usually see RAM's pulling Ford's :B
