And, I don’t understand the argument of 2WD/4WD being light over the rear wheels, where I grew up and still today everyone puts weight (firewood, rock, sand, etc.) in the back of their trucks before winter...... don’t they do that out West?. Just joking guys- couldn’t resist

Yes we do that here also..My dad filled two tires with cement he carried in the rear of his bed when not carrying a TC..First dose of a truck camper in the 1950's..
I carry firewood in mine because that's what I do in the summer months..Others do rocks/dirt/gravel etc just like where you came from..Living in McCall Idaho and 1/2 the town with 2WD,a lot of them liked the Volkswagon 2WD with the engine over the drivers..It got around great also in the snow..
As you said..Weight is your friend as well as tires and the knowledge to get around in the snow..
