Something might go wrong with the transfer case or frontend after 100,000+ miles - might go wrong. I've always owned 4x4s and the only thing that went wrong with the front end was my fault. I plowed a lot of snow and always had all four chained up and I was stuck a lot in the hills. The front end and transfer case won't go bad any quicker than the rest of the truck.
