2wd vs 4wd

I looking to buy a diesel tow vehicle and there seem to be more 4wd trucks for sale than 2wd. I don't need a 4wd, but there are better deals on the models I have seen. I have always heard that anything you have done willcost more on a 4wd and gathered is more moving parts that can break our wear. I would like to know you experience if you have an opinion
  • We have a 4x4 but we did not buy it with the intent to tow our trailer off road, living here in Arizona we do explore the back country so that is why we bought the 4x4. Our trailer has never been off road and we have no intent to take it off road.
  • If you have no need, dont get it. My current TV is 4X2 and is perfectly fine. There is no way I am going to put my 13,000 fiver off the pavement, so the need is not there for me. Others will claim you have to have 4X4 to tow, but again it is up to how you use your truck. IMHO a 4X2 with limited slip rear endmis every bit as good as a 4X4 with open rear ends
