My grandmother’s house was in the woods and only accessed by a two-track winding driveway with 30’ gully on one side. After the first snow fell even 4wd was not enough and only tracked vehicles could make the 1/4 mile driveway since there was no room to turn around or pull off. They always put the vehicles away after the first heavy snow and walked everywhere until the Spring thaw. She stayed in that house until she could no longer walk that drive and then an additional mile to the store. There definitely are varied landscapes that cannot be addressed by blanket statements or assumptions put out by some on this thread.
