True in *some* cases. But everyone realizes that 4x4 by its nature gives more options and capabilities, usually requiring fewer "rescues"
than their 2wd counterparts.
As 2wd owners it is wise to avoid risky situations when possible and have a solid backup plan for unfortunate situations.
It all depends on the owner's preference and intended uses.
For us, being in the snow regions and often on unpaved roads, grass, some mud as needed, etc...4WD is our choice. If we lived elsewhere our choice might be different.
