My truck is a 3500 2011 HO Dually CC 4X4, I tow a combined 28K load and have the 3:42 gears. The truck handles the load extremely well. 9.5 hand calc and 55 or more along I-5 border to border.
So anything you can tow safely with either of the single rear wheel trucks with the extra power they have over mine the 3:42 gears are not an issue!!!!!!!!!!
