Typically, (I can't speak to Fords system as I don't know it) regen is triggered by a pressure sensor on the DPF. Frequent regen can be a sign of a plugged DPF, or faulty sensor.
It may be worth taking your truck on a long hard drive with high (safe range of course) egt and rpm. Perhaps lockout overdrive or your top gear. Generate lots of heat and burn the dpf out.
I Know that the ecu on Ford agricultural equipment can be set to do parked regen, it makes the pipes glow... Might be an option for your truck as well.
