I borrowed my brother-in-law's 38 foot travel trailer last summer, and didn't have any issues.
We did however make sure we booked sites that were as big as we could find.
In a couple of State parks we thought we would be out of luck because the longest site we could find would have had us parking the truck somewhere else.
However, after close inspection of the pictures of a few sites I was able to determine that I could in fact back the trailer wheels all the way back to the 'curb' at the end of the site, giving lots of room for the truck. I carry lots of blocking, so putting down the stabilizers wasn't an issue....just had to make sure they were well behind the 'curb'.
I believe they measure their sites from the roadway to the 'curb' or end of pavement.
The only awkward part of towing such a huge trailer was all the looks we got....."why on earth would only 2 people need such a massive trailer?" I'm sure was whispered many a time as folks walked past. Whenever I noticed a bewildered passer-by I would smile and say, "Just borrowing it....it's none to big for my BIL with his 3 boys and 2 dogs though" :)
So, just plan carefully, and enjoy!!
