The size of the fuse is determined by the wire size. Tell us what gauge wire you have between the battery and converter.
The FUSE is an in-line fuse on 12V DC to slideout motor........has nothing to do with converter charging etc.
30A fuse should be correct size for that motor

Find mfg. of slideout and model number. Then check on-line for manual.
It will list AMP size.
That is your assumption, the OP does not state that the fuse supplies only the slide motor. Without further information we are all guessing.
Still has nothing to do with converter and it's 55A charging to battery........
OP does state it is close to battery. OP does state is is 30A in-line. OP does state when it blew slide quit working.
My assumption is.......30A in-line fuse fed directly from battery IS for slide out motor.
