It has never blown while plugged up to shore power. The only two times it has blown in has been operating on battery only. I did check to make sure the battery wasn't low on water and it looks good.
It is on the main positive phase of the battery and just a foot or two from the battery.
I'm showing my elementary understanding of all things electronic here, but if I replace with an auto-resetting breaker will I be introducing a higher risk of damage if I were to ever find myself in an overload situation?
NO....
DC circuit breaker auto resetting will trip at rated amps (20, 30, 40 whatever breaker is) and then reset (after a short period).
Then power will be restored to slide out..........and trip again if amp rating exceeded.
You have same protection as a 'fuse' just don't have to replace it when it trips.
BUT the DC CBs do weaken after multiple trips and will start tripping more frequent.
SO replacing with DC CB is option..........auto parts store
BUT WHY is fuse blowing in first place :H
Find out what size fuse should be used for that slide out motor??
