DO NOT put a 40A fuse on a 30A (10ga) wire. Doing so risks heating the wire and starting a fire. The size of the fuse is not determined by the size of the load or the size of the converter. Fuse sizing is done based on the wire gauge and 10 gauge wire is 30A wire. Anybody who says otherwise needs to study the NEC a little better.
If the wire comes directly from the battery and also feeds the tongue jack that is a likely the cause of your blowing fuses. Most tongue jacks will blow a fuse in about 1 second if you bring the jack all the way up against the stop. Even if you don't actually blow the fuse with the jack you could be heating it up enough so that it blows when you operate the slide if the slide is operated thru the same fuse.
Be careful as there is a lot of bogus suggestions in this thread and several posts by folks who just don't know what they are talking about.
