These were the trucks I was referencing in my post.
Travelling through Europe on a tour a US Couple said " Where are their Trucks?" Oblivious to the vast number of HDT's and the Van Cab Chassis's everywhere.
Another young couple from Texas , commented quietly " they do not have Pickup Trucks here"
Only if it is familiar, then people seem to click to what the situation is.
Hey Robert,
Here in the USA a van cab/cutaway chassis is just a pick-up truck without the normal utility bed. Suspension and drivelines are the essentially the same. And that was my point many posts ago in this thread....that 33' travel trailers with slide-out rooms are not likely to be pulled by little euro sedans like VW Passat's, etc. If the euro camping community buying public falls in love with slide outs like we here in the USA have, it's gonna take a prime mover that is adequate to yank it around.
You will find Vans and Cab Chassis variants will be the prime movers
This is a US Travel Trailer being transported by a European Company. GCVWR is 23,000lb roughly the same as a F250. GVWR, is as heavy as a F550 at 15,400lb
